Three Insurance Resolutions for the New Year

The beginning of a new year is when we all pledge to make a change for the better: whether it's a new healthy diet, a promise to be organised or a plan to exercise more often, New Year's resolutions are everywhere at this time of year. This year, why not make yours a little more worthwhile?  Making your insurance policies your New Year's resolution and general priority for 2017 is a smart choice for a prepared and organised year ahead.

1) Find and fill gaps in your insurance coverage

When it comes to making a claim on your insurance, the very last thing you want to hear is that your insurance policy does not cover the issue at hand. To avoid this, take the time to read through your policy documents and understand exactly what is covered within your policy. If there are any areas in which you notice you are not sufficiently covered, contact our insurance specialists.

2) Update your home inventory

Home insurance allows you to rest assured that your property and possessions are covered in the event of damage, loss or theft. As you add new items, such as jewellery and electrical items, it is important that you add them to your home inventory and to your insurance policy in order to ensure that they are insured should the worst happen.
Keeping an up to date home inventory will also make it easier to make claims on any damaged, lost or stolen items as you will be able to display a clear documentation that proves your ownership of the item.

3) Review your insurance policies

As well as ensuring that your insurance policies cover everything you need them to, it is also important to check they you are paying only for the insurance policies you need. If, for example, you used to own an expensive piece of jewellery which you no longer own, it is important to let us know so that we can adjust your home insurance policy accordingly.
